I was hoping to get the day started pretty early this morning but having encountered an enormous, almost, insurmountable monkey wrench I was finally able to get this engine cranked. I guess I haven't taken my daily dose of invalidation. The problem started with loading my Home Page. Does my ISP not know that when I sign in that I would like to bring up a page I can work with, not 3? Although, my service is pretty reliable and have had very few incidents I really tire of waiting to load multiple pages. In fact, one time I had to battle it loading 15. No, I did'nt have a virus. If you are like me, you try to be loyal but even my alliegance can be won over with better and faster service. It's not that I want an apology, I want the problem to be fixed, which leads to another story.
A few years ago I had an agreement with MSN as my ISP and boy was that a losing situation. It was one headache after another and in fact, I am still wondering how they are in business (by the way it was during the ME debacle). I made attempt after attempt to fix problems that I learned later was in their software. What they should have done was put a sticky note at the bottom of their product where you have to accept their terms that says "after 2 years this product will self destruct." Right now you should be pulling out your tissue for me because you know my pain. My antipathy stems from a presumption of what I think dependable service should be rather than how it actually is. So, I find myself back at ground zero, hoping and praying that tomorrow will be different. Hoping that it will not take an hour to get online and hoping that if it does happen I will have the gumption to break it off, draw up the papers and send the sobs packing. Having said all that I feel the need to go read 'Chicken Soup for the Ranter's Soul', which of course leaves another problem there is no such book.
Long Day Ahead...
