Never Pick Up Strangers ...

Author: jess35 /

For the past couple of years I have been on a quest to find the one movie that will scare the daylights out of me and frankly, I have yet to find one. Sure, I have seen plenty of gore but still have not been terrified. Hopefully, this one will keep me up at night for some time. Keep your fingers crossed and wish me luck and after I see it I will tell you if it was worth the $$$.

Departure From the Norm...

The great thing about having a blog, is having a voice, and the ability to
share with others. Thanks, to The Onion for this parody on presidential
exploratory committees. It is the perfect embodiment of the state of our
politics today.

Blooming...

What's blooming now you might ask? Well, if you must know it's a Flowering
Quince. This image was taken about mid January right before our cold snap.
The tiny blooms were quite pretty and I thought to bring a few indoors. I love
plants that flower this time of year, they are rather obstinate in their manner,
managing to bloom in the worst of conditions.

Long Day Ahead...

Long Day Ahead

I was hoping to get the day started pretty early this morning but having encountered an enormous, almost, insurmountable monkey wrench I was finally able to get this engine cranked. I guess I haven't taken my daily dose of invalidation. The problem started with loading my Home Page. Does my ISP not know that when I sign in that I would like to bring up a page I can work with, not 3? Although, my service is pretty reliable and have had very few incidents I really tire of waiting to load multiple pages. In fact, one time I had to battle it loading 15. No, I did'nt have a virus. If you are like me, you try to be loyal but even my alliegance can be won over with better and faster service. It's not that I want an apology, I want the problem to be fixed, which leads to another story.

A few years ago I had an agreement with MSN as my ISP and boy was that a losing situation. It was one headache after another and in fact, I am still wondering how they are in business (by the way it was during the ME debacle). I made attempt after attempt to fix problems that I learned later was in their software. What they should have done was put a sticky note at the bottom of their product where you have to accept their terms that says "after 2 years this product will self destruct." Right now you should be pulling out your tissue for me because you know my pain. My antipathy stems from a presumption of what I think dependable service should be rather than how it actually is. So, I find myself back at ground zero, hoping and praying that tomorrow will be different. Hoping that it will not take an hour to get online and hoping that if it does happen I will have the gumption to break it off, draw up the papers and send the sobs packing. Having said all that I feel the need to go read 'Chicken Soup for the Ranter's Soul', which of course leaves another problem there is no such book.

Chasing Away Winter...

Gardenia

We have had a pretty mild winter thus far and I for one am itching to get outside. Lately, I have had a mind to plant a privacy screen on the south side of my home. I have narrowed down my choices to Arborvitae, because of it's pyramidal and even growth or an Ornamental, like a Saucer Magnolia. I am leaning towards the Arborvitae, simply because they are neat and symmetrical. I only need to block off 10-15 feet at most and have a sewage line to deal with. I am hoping that the roots will not be so invasive as to disrupt the tank. Anyway, that is my next little project I will be undertaking in the next few weeks.

I have also, been attempting to launch another website and am currently in the process of deciding whether or not it will be viable option. Although, my interest in the website does not revolve around $$$ but rather it's creation. I might be better served if I could design my own from scratch but that would take up a tremendous amount of time. Decisions, decisions.
