Black & Whites...

Author: jess35 /

I have a passion for black and whites, there's something familiar about them, like an old friend, trusted and true.

These photographs were taken with a Konica-Minolta, 35 mm SLR camera, using a 28-80mm lens. On this particluar day it was overcast, which may have helped. I was worried that the bright sunlight would contribute to a washed out look (apparent in the upper-left hand corner of the bottom photo). I was relieved to see that the depth of the color of the boards, which are constructed of Pine, was not diminished. The shadow in the photo above speaks volumes to it's mystery.

I shot 7-10 images of this particular barn and these two are my favorite. This barn was constructed in 1926 and was used as a dwelling by my great-grandfather. It is well on it's way to "antiquedom" but not necessarily part of any local history. These images will be used in preserving what I hold so dear, fond memories of life on the farm.
